Laker 2008-2010, championship heroes Jordan Farmar and Sasha Vujacic made their return to STAPLES last night. They where welcomed back with open arms and cheers, but their New Jersey Net team where shown the door in Los Angeles. Jersey where sent back to Garden State with a 100-88 Lake Show kicking up their backsides. Still the Meadowlands team exit by the hand of the Lakers was more 'Don't let the door hit you' then 'Hit The Road Jack', as L.A. struggled again against a lesser side for three quarters. Kobe paced the Lakers with 27 as he battled jersey darling Brook Lopez (with a game-high 35) in the post. Kobe wasn't scared by the imposing big man but Andrew Bynum almost heard the famous Ray Charles, STAPLES Centre number with five fouls on his way to two points. Lopez got the better of the Lakers twin post players as even Pau Gasol's 20 points came hard fought. "Lopez was a real tough handle for our big guys tonight and we didn't give them much help," Coach Phil Jackson told press postgame. Vujacic had 17 points and a touching 'Thanks Machine' video tribute on the jumbotron, to go with being dunked on by Kobe. While Jordan Farmar gave 15 points and received his championship ring and a spin and lay in from Mamba. That just leaves Josh Powell and Adam Morrison to collect their gold now. It's about time someone gave these champions more burn, they where good enough for the Lakers and Larry O'Brien. Suit it up. TIM DAVID HARVEY.
