Things to do in Denver when your almost dead...give Kobe the ball. Kobe shot the lights out when it counted. With a barrage of beautiful, fadeaways and M.J.'s, Kobe's 18 points helped overcome the Denver Nuggets and their current star Carmelo Anthony who had a Jordan jersey number of 23 points. 'Melo was causing problems, calming Ron Artest all night but he wasn't enough for Kobe, who once called Anthony the toughest guy in the league to play. "Ultimately it's my reads on when to attack and when not to attack. I know I can score at any moment or get looks at any moment and in the third quarter I was able to do that," Kobe told press, postgame about his choice points. Sure Kobe didn't have a career night, but he made his point and his points when it truly mattered, hitting from every angle with obtuse offence. Five Lakers had at least 15 points, including Pau Gasol, who recorded yet another double, double with 19 points and 13 rebounds (his 24th this season to be exact). Bynum also had 17 and 5 in yet another impressive night. He even got into it with Nene at one point, proving he hasn't lost any passion. The Lakers also showed they haven't lost any passion or determination, rebounding from some recent losses before their time off which leaves them free until Tuesday. TIM DAVID HARVEY.

*Congratulations are in order for Shannon Brown and R&B star Monica, who have secretly wed, according to reports. Wishing this great couple all the happiness.*
