LAKERS LATEST

LOS ANGELES LAKERS 113-96 NEW YORK KNICKS

It was throwback night last night at Madison Square Garden as Kobe proved to be as classic and timeless as Mitchell & Ness. Two years after Kobe had a Jordan-esque 61 point performance at the Mecca he dropped, 33 as his Kareem-esque numbers capped a 113-96 win for the Lake Show. So far the Lakers are 4 and 0 an their 7 game road trip as they improve in all areas of basketball. G.M. Mitch Kupchak saw for himself that there may be no need for a trade as his team took apart the New York team that also want Carmelo Anthony. "I'm starting to see signs of resuscitation," Mitch said. Pau Gasol also had 20 points and Lamar Odom 16 as all the Lakers looked good again. Gasol told press, "The attitude is much better, The body language is better. We're more confident out there." Nobody looked stronger then Kobe who once again put in a legendary performance in the worlds most famous arena. "This is a guy that loves to play in the big sites, likes the audience, he likes the attention," Phil Jackson said of Kobe. "He rises to the occasion." As Kobe rises, the showtime reaches new highs. Next up, Magic. TIM DAVID HARVEY.
